about

From Django Reinhardt's 100th Birthday Special Edition - Patrick Mouloud

First version: November 14, 1947 (Paris). Four other versions: October 10, 1948 (Radio, Paris), October 25, 1949 (Radio, Geneva), April-May 1950 (Rome), February 1951 (Club Saint-Germain, Paris).

Composed in Mannheim (one of the cities which counted in the life of Mozart) during a tour in Germany in the summer of 1947, and regularly played again in the following years, Diminishing was originally called 'Tell Mozart', then 'Diminishing Blackness' and sometimes 'Black Night'.
