about

From Django Reinhardt's 100th Birthday Special Edition - Patrick Moulou

First version: September 1935 (Paris). Seven other versions: June 13, 1937 (Radio CBS, Paris), April 22, 1938 (BBC, Paris), May 8, 1942 (Brussels), October 26, 1945 (Radio AFN, Paris), November 6, 1945 (Paris), December 16, 1945 (Radio NBC, Pleyel -Paris), January-February 1949 (Rome).

First 'broad' theme of the guitarist recorded by the Quintet de Hot Club d'France, Djangology was also played with various great formations (in particular with the ATC Band). The introduction of the original version (two voices: violin/guitar), of an astonishing modernity, immediately imposes the signature of the composer.
